Tenisha Rigby

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LISW

Hi, I’m Tenisha Rigby, a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field. I primarily work with adults ages 18–40, helping them navigate life’s transitions and build on their personal strengths. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood a space that’s free of judgment and full of compassion. Together, we’ll work at your pace to explore what matters most to you and find practical ways to help you feel balanced, confident, and fulfilled in your day-to-day life.

My Approach

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, understood, and free to be yourself. I take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, and I tailor each session to your needs and goals.

In my work, I often integrate:

  • Person-centered care — You guide the pace and direction.

  • Trauma-informed practice — Safety, trust, and empowerment come first.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy — Building on strengths and what’s already working.

  • Narrative Therapy — Helping you rewrite the stories that hold you back.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies — Supporting emotional regulation, mindfulness, and coping skills.

I value transparency and collaboration, and I will always explain the “why” behind the techniques we use. My hope is to create a space where you feel both supported and empowered as you move forward.

Who I Work With

I primarily support adults ages 18–40 who may be dealing with:

  • Anxiety or overwhelm

  • Trauma or difficult past experiences

  • Work, school, or family-related stress

  • Relationship or communication challenges

  • Feeling disconnected, burnt out, or unmotivated

  • Low confidence or self-esteem

  • Life transitions or uncertainty

  • Emotional exhaustion

If you’re looking for a place to unpack what you’re feeling and begin moving toward balance and peace, I’m here to help.

Your First Session

Our first session is all about comfort and connection. I want you to feel safe and supported from the moment we begin.

During this session, we’ll talk about:

  • What brought you to therapy

  • Your goals and what you hope to change or understand

  • Your strengths and values

  • Patterns or experiences you want to explore

  • What you want therapy to feel like for you

Together, we’ll set meaningful goals and revisit them regularly to ensure therapy is helping you grow in ways that feel right and authentic.
